generalRepresentatives from the Foundation, Ali Cann and Sydney May, recently met with Ryan Sinclair from Happy Days Children’s Charity. The Charity supports children and young people aged 3 to 17 with special needs who are also living in poverty. The charity’s mission is to improve the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of disadvantaged young people by providing access to holidays, leisure activities, and educational experiences. These opportunities help promote personal development and improve overall quality of life.
With our funding, Happy Days will provide a professional live theatre performance for up to 236 children in Reading, who have severe or profound learning disabilities, including autism, speech and language difficulties.
This theatre experience is carefully designed to support the children’s development by nurturing creativity, empathy, and emotional awareness. Live theatre offers a powerful way for children to expand their imagination, understand different perspectives, and engage with storytelling in a deeply immersive way. For many of these children, this will be their first experience of live performing arts. It is a rare and meaningful opportunity that can have a lasting impact enhancing their emotional wellbeing and supporting positive mental health through joy, connection, and creative expression.
