Funding completed for The Link Visiting Scheme!

In October, representative from the Foundation, Paul Griffiths met with The Link Visiting Scheme, one of the beneficiaries of our Summer 2025 funding round.

The Link Visiting Scheme is a small, local charity supporting lonely and socially isolated older people in Wokingham, with the help of a large team of volunteer befrienders. Their solution to loneliness is kindness and friendship offered through one-to-one befriending, telephone support, and community activities.

Our funding towards their ‘Giving the Gift of Friendship this Christmas’ project will help bring companionship and joy to more than 500 older people in the community. It will support a series of festive events including a Christmas Community Kitchen Lunch, a Christmas Special at All Saints Church with carols and refreshments and a Christmas Day Lunch, offered as a sit-down meal or home delivery for around 160 guests.
