Lizzie Uzzell, a representative from our Foundation, recently met with the team of South Central Ambulance Charity, one of the beneficiaries from our Winter 2024 funding round.

South Central Ambulance Charity supports the vital work of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust by funding initiatives that enhance patient care and community wellbeing. They empower their dedicated volunteers and help the NHS go further by providing essential training, equipment, and services that make a lasting impact on the health and safety of the communities.

We are funding the replacement of three aging defibrillators used by the Volunteer Community First Responders with new Zoll AED 3 defibrillators. These lifesaving devices are critical in cardiac arrest situations, and while still functional, many are nearing the end of their service life. Additionally, rising battery costs and reduced battery longevity have made maintaining older units challenging. Without the Community First Responders, people needing emergency care would have to wait longer and for some that would significantly impact their chance of survival.
