generalAndy Cowie and Lizzie Uzzell from our Foundation received a warm welcome back to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where they had the chance to see the new Airvo 3 machine in action and discuss its impact with the staff. Funded through our Spring 2024 round, this advanced high-flow oxygen device is already making a remarkable impact in the Paediatric Emergency Department helping to transform patient care.
The Airvo 3 has given young patients greater independence, enabling them to move around freely while still receiving vital respiratory care. This mobility is especially crucial during safe transfers from A&E up to the paediatric ward, making the journey less stressful for both children and their families.
For staff, the Airvo 3 has proven to be much easier to use and has relieved the pressure and complexity of transporting patients, ensuring safer and more efficient care throughout the hospital.
A huge thank you to the Royal Berks Charity for letting us see the difference this equipment is making for young patients’ lives. Learn more about the charity and how to support their work here.
