The Windmill receives funding!

In April, Iain Roberts met with The Windmill, one of the beneficiaries from our Winter 2025 funding round, a community centre serving Deddington and the surrounding villages of Clifton and Hempton in Oxfordshire.The centre offers a range of facilities, including meeting rooms, a sports hall, and outdoor grounds. 

While The Windmill plays an important role locally, the area has limited access to entertainment, with no cinema or theatre and few regular events. As a result, there is a clear demand from residents for more accessible activities and opportunities to come together.

Through our funding, we are supporting the introduction of a new programme of community events at The Windmill. These will include quiz nights, live music, theatre performances and, in time, a community cinema. The grant will also enable the next stage of development, including the installation of a projector, screen and improved sound system, while ensuring the hall remains suitable for sport.

These enhancements will help create a sustainable and inclusive space for the community, benefiting up to 1,000 local residents.
